The Door Bull Installation Guide

Like many other door barricade devices, The Door Bull works by reinforcing your door frame and evenly distributing the force of any attempted kick-in or break-in. However, most frame upgrades require extensive carpentry work and are not ideal for many homeowners or renters to complete. Not so with The Door Bull!

Our product offers superior protection with simplified installation. The Door Bull is easy to install yourself with minimal tools or experience needed. All of the door security hardware needed is included - even the drill bit for the pilot holes!

Installation Instructions:

Step 1:  Place the jamb plate against the door frame at the desired height, typically 18 inches above the doorknob. Position the jamb plate against the doorstop. Make certain that the cylinder on the front of the plate faces toward the wall, not the door [need illustration]. Mark the center of the slotted hole in the jamb plate. Install a one-inch set screw and loosely tighten the jamb plate on the door frame.

Notification:  This screw will be removed after the adjustment of the jamb plate.

Step 2:  Close the door and slide the face plate onto the jamb plate. Slowly move the face plate in and out and adjust the jamb plate, until a spacing of around 1/16 inch is visible between the face plate and the door. Drill (3) 1/8 inch pilot holes into the openings at the rear of the jamb plate. Install and tighten the 3-inch screws.

Step 3:  To add more strength and balance, replace one screw from each hinge on the opposite side of the door with the additional 3 inch screws provided.

Step 4:  Position the face plate holder on the wall where you want the face plate to be stored. Then drill (2) 1/8 inch pilot holes into the openings at the rear of the holder. Install and tighten the 1 inch screws.
